This guide explains the two ways to set TP/SL on Nado, how to choose a trigger price, and how to edit or remove these orders.

Data as of October 1, 2026. Perpetual contracts are complex instruments and may be liquidated rapidly. Funding rates and mark prices change without notice. Leverage magnifies gains and losses. Fees, network costs, and slippage reduce returns. Past performance is not indicative of future results.

Take-Profit closes the position when it reaches your chosen profit level; Stop-Loss closes it when it reaches your maximum acceptable loss. Both are especially useful in perpetual trading, where leverage can make profit and loss change quickly.

What are Take-Profit and Stop-Loss orders?

  • Take-Profit automatically attempts to close your position when it reaches your chosen profit target.

  • Stop-Loss automatically attempts to close your position when it reaches the maximum loss level you set.

For a long position (which profits when the price rises), your Take-Profit is normally set above your entry price and your Stop-Loss below it. For a short position, the directions are reversed: Take-Profit below entry, Stop-Loss above.

How do you set TP/SL when placing an order?

After choosing your market, margin mode, leverage, and order size, select the TP/SL checkbox in the order panel. You can set your levels using:

  • A specific trigger price

  • A target profit or loss amount

  • A percentage gain or loss

Review the estimated profit and loss shown, then place your order as usual. When the position opens, the TP/SL orders are attached to it.

How do you add TP/SL to a position that’s already open?

Go to the Positions section below the trading chart, find the position, and click Add under TP/SL. Enter your level using a trigger price, profit/loss amount, or percentage. Nado shows your estimated profit or loss as you enter values. Confirm, and the TP/SL order appears under your position.

What trigger price type should you choose?

When entering a trigger price, you can choose between three reference prices:

Trigger Type

Last Oracle Mid

What it uses

The most recent traded price Nado's external reference price The price halfway between the best buy and sell prices

For beginners, Last is usually the easiest to understand because it follows the latest traded price.

Can you close only part of a position?

Yes. By default, a TP/SL order closes the full position when triggered. To close only part of it, select Partial Order and enter how much to close — for example, closing 50% at your Take-Profit price while leaving the other 50% open.

How do you edit or remove TP/SL?

You can change your TP/SL settings any time before they trigger — the trigger price, profit/loss target, percentage, or the amount that will close. You can also cancel a TP/SL order. Note that cancelling a TP/SL order does not close your position; it only removes the automatic exit setting.

Key takeaways

  • Take-Profit locks in gains at a target; Stop-Loss limits losses at a level you set.

  • You can set TP/SL when opening a trade or add it to an open position later.

  • Choose a trigger price type — Last is simplest for beginners.

  • You can close a full position or just part of it, and edit or cancel any time before it triggers.
